Customer Care

The Handmade Closet exists due to the support of our loyal customers.  As such, you can expect any interactions you have with us will be treasured.  We will endeavour to treat your requests with the utmost care and respect.  In return we appreciate your kindness and understanding towards our efforts to build a sustainable small Australian based business offering a unique service and a locally produced quality linen clothing product.

The Handmade Closet manufactures each garment individually and as such the bulk of our time is dedicated to your clothing creation.  Monday through Wednesday are heavy production days in the studio.  Thursday to Sunday are the shop days.  Production happens all days except Sunday.  In light of that, the best way to contact us with questions or queries is by email. You can expect a response within 24-48 hours and during business hours.   You may also direct message via social media to interact with us briefly.  

Phone call or virtual appointments remain the most efficient way for us to provide a custom clothing service online.  Bronwyn will be available for up to 10 appointments each week.  Email to secure your personal custom order appointment.

You understand at the time of ordering that your order payment confirms your commitment to your custom made garment order and includes a deposit which is non-refundable. The deposit may be transferred to a different order, if you sleep on your choices and find you aren’t totally in love.  You will need to notify The Handmade Closet  as soon as possible and prior to your order progressing to 'construction' in our production schedule.  Once in construction we are unable to make changes.  Please see our returns/refund policy for further details.


The made to order garments you have ordered will be prepared individually for you and available in approximately 3-4weeks. Heavy production times are likely at certain times of the year.  Historically this is the case pre-christmas and after our summer break we ask for your kindness and patience  in these times.


From time to time unexpected production delays can occur (vintage machinery and person well being considered) and should this be the case we will endeavour to notify you of a new delivery time.  Your understanding will be appreciated if that is the case.  


To check on progress please feel free to send an email which we will respond to during  business hours and within 24-48 hours. 


Should you need your order by a specific date please notify us at the time of ordering so we can manage your expectations realistically. 


You will receive an email when construction begins so you can be excited it is getting close to being ready for you.  NB**Changes to the order are not available after that time.  


I look forward to having your order ready for you and will post by the end of the week following its completion.  In the case of in store pick up I expect you will be excited to do so in a timely manner and within 7 days of notification that it is ready.


Your support of my small business is always very much appreciated and never taken for granted. Delivering garments constructed especially for you with love is what we do best.

Privacy & Safety

The privacy & safety of your personal data is of the highest importance to our customer care policy and to those who represent The Handmade Closet. Any customer specific personal and payment details are only used by The Handmade Closet.  They will never be made public or sold for use to a third-party.  That's simply not cool!  The Handmade Closet uses Square and PayPal as payment providers and to record your order details. We have reviewed and respect in good faith the privacy policies of these third party providers. 


We appreciate the benefits of social media in our business, and wish to acknowledge the hazards of privacy.  We will endeavour to seek permission to use images directly communicated with us outside of social media for any promotional activities should the images be appropriate.  Images you share or tag back to The Handmade Closet we will rightly assume you are happy for that image to be in the public online domain and as such freely available for our use.  


The Handmade Closet will operate within the guidelines of Facebook and Instagram privacy policy and will not be held personally or legally responsible  for breaches of your privacy should it occur on these platforms or any other social media online platform in the future and outside of our control.  Should you have a concern with our service we would appreciate direct contact rather than a social media slinging match.  While we have nothing to hide, misunderstandings do occur and we would prefer the opportunity to address your frustration or disappointment directly.  In this case we reserve the rights to delete or remove from our social media any inappropriate and intentionally damaging content.  

Wholesale Inquiries

Currently The Handmade Closet does not have capacity to offer our garments wholesale.   

We may however be interested in small batch orders of our designs or those we are commissioned for,  time to time.  The acceptance of wholesale small batch order will be limited to when production capacity presents itself.  Please send your enquiry to
